A leading international engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Geological Engineer to join their team on a major dam infrastructure project in Indonesia. This role is part of a high-profile development involving the Upper and Lower Dams, and will play a key part in both the design and construction supervision phases for the Pumped Storage project.
You will be responsible for delivering geotechnical and geological expertise across all stages of the project, from design review to on-site supervision and final reporting. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark project while working alongside a multidisciplinary international team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the geotechnical design for the Upper and Lower Dams, including:
- Reviewing general design and geotechnical criteria.
- Conducting site inspections, surveys, and geological studies.
- Updating detailed designs and construction drawings.
- Supporting the development of the dam safety plan.
- Preparing design and final technical reports.
Supervising construction activities related to geological and geotechnical works:
- Overseeing core drilling, consolidation and curtain grouting.
- Supervising excavation works, in-situ rock testing, sampling, and lab testing.
- Assessing geological conditions and advising on excavation methods, rock support systems, and slope stabilisation.
- Approving contractor equipment and construction methods.
- Coordinating and inspecting drilling and grouting operations.
- Reviewing and approving test procedures and witnessing on-site tests.
- Monitoring progress, verifying quantity surveys, and initiating corrective actions.
- Maintaining geological records and supporting claim resolution.
- Preparing the project completion report.
Preparing and submitting all required documentation and reports.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Geotechnical, or Civil Engineering.
- A minimum of 12 years’ experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong background in dam design and construction supervision.
- Proven ability to manage complex site activities and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Experience working on international infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
