A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its hydropower division. You will be involved in the design, development, and execution of hydropower projects ranging from small-scale installations to large multi-megawatt facilities, both in France and internationally.
You’ll be joining a global engineering consultancy within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of 15 engineers dedicated to hydropower innovation and excellence. The team values collaboration, technical rigor, and continuous learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to PFS, feasibility studies, detailed design, and project execution for hydropower systems.
- Work on a wide range of equipment and systems: medium / low voltage distribution, auxiliary power supplies, generators, alternators, excitation systems, high-voltage substations, transformers, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Conduct technical calculations, simulations, and preliminary sizing.
- Perform site inspections, factory acceptance tests, and site acceptance tests.
- Carrying out technical expertise or audits according to experience
- Prepare tender documentation and support bid responses.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical knowledge development within the team.
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients, with occasional travel required.
What you will need:
- Engineering degree or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in centralised power generation, ideally including hydropower.
- Strong knowledge of control systems, industrial computing, and industry standards.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Fluent in English & French; additional languages are a plus.
- Team-oriented, curious, and committed to mentoring and knowledge sharing.

A gross salary up to 75,000 EUR / annum, there can be some flexibility for the right candidate but it depends on your experience level this includes including profit-sharing and employee benefits. Plus, generous leave policy including RTT and paid holidays.
