A pumped storage hydropower business is seeking an accomplished Chief Mechanical Engineer to lead all mechanical engineering activities for major pumped‑storage hydropower projects in the Philippines. This is a senior, high‑impact role overseeing the full lifecycle of mechanical systems. This role ensures that the design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of all systems - covering turbines, generators, transformers, equipment, and auxiliary systems—are completed to the highest technical, quality, and safety standards. The position requires close coordination with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to deliver the project on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.

What you will need to do:

• Lead the mechanical engineering scope, including design review, validation, and optimisation.
• Oversee integration of mechanical systems with civil, electrical and structural works.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with international and local standards.
• Review and approve technical specifications, drawings, and calculations.
• Manage schedules and milestones for all mechanical deliverables.
• Supervise quality inspections, FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests), and site commissioning.
• Provide technical input for tenders, bid evaluations, and vendor selection.
• Enforce HSE requirements in all mechanical activities.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 25 years relevant experience, with at least 10 years in senior roles in hydropower or large-scale power generation projects.
• Proven experience in hydropower pumped storage projects is highly desirable.
• Strong technical expertise in mechanical equipment relating to hydropower construction project .
• Experience in EPC project environments and large-scale infrastructure delivery.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and performance excellence.
• Willingness to be site based for periods of time for oversight
