An African hydropower developer is currently looking for a Development Manager to be based in Africa on a permanent contract. This role is key to the company’s goal of increasing green power to the mini grid, and providing power to rural parts of the country.

You will be required to work with the technical team to get projects to financial close and potentially, oversee the construction. The projects are all hydropower related and involve several potential refurbishments. You will be required to participate in meetings with the relevant lenders and investors

Scope of the position and your experience:

• You will need experience in hydropower development, particularly, small hydro.
• Ideally, experience in construction supervision in small hydro.
• You will need to have a good understanding of HSE principals.
• Experience and knowledge in associated local permits and obtaining them.
• Bilingual French & English language skills are essential plus knowledge of local dialects are an advantage.
• Degree qualified in an associated field.

Salary and package:

Gross salary around $90,000 USD gross / annum (negotiable) + bonus potential + healthcare. This is a residential position where you will be living from a main city but will involve travel to different project sites. Permanent contract.
