Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Engineer will play a key role in supporting both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term asset performance across multiple hydroelectric generating stations. This position combines hands‑on technical work, project leadership, system analysis and field engagement.
You will contribute to capital project delivery, maintenance support, dam‑safety programs, system reliability, automation / SCADA improvements, and engineering studies. This is a high‑impact role within a mission‑driven organisation committed to clean‑energy leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
Capital Projects & Engineering Support
- Develop project scopes, estimates, specifications and conceptual designs
- Manage capital projects through full lifecycle
- Review vendor drawings and technical documentation
- Provide site support and inspections during project execution
Dam Safety
- Support electrical components of the Dam Safety Program
- Conduct inspections, update reports and participate in third‑party reviews
Maintenance & Operations
- Support maintenance teams during planned and unplanned outages
- Develop SOPs and remedial plans
- Conduct outage/event analysis and implement corrective actions
- Monitor and guide maintenance programs for relays, transformers, breakers, batteries and oil testing
Automation, SCADA & Tools
- Develop and maintain SCADA monitoring tools, PLC support and engineered designs
- Create screen layouts, data tagging, reports and alarms
- Lead field commissioning and validate as‑built documentation
- Serve as subject‑matter expert for automation and data‑collection systems
Engineering Studies
- Complete and maintain short‑circuit, coordination and arc‑flash studies
- Maintain protective relay settings, AVR settings and turbine‑control parameters
About you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- P.Eng designation required
- At least 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally in renewable energy or power generation
- Strong power‑systems modelling experience
- SCADA and PLC systems expertise
- Proficiency with power‑analysis software
- Willingness to travel regularly to field sites
- Valid driver’s licence
- Existing right to work in Canada
