A major pumped storage hydropower development is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of the reservoir component of a large-scale energy hydropower program. This is a senior site-based leadership role overseeing the full lifecycle of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities for a critical part of the project.

The Project Manager will drive the execution of works, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives and strict adherence to technical, contractual, environmental, and safety standards. The role requires close coordination with EPC contractors, the OE consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, high‑quality, and cost‑effective delivery.

You will lead multidisciplinary site operations, manage interfaces across civil, geotechnical, environmental, and electromechanical disciplines, and ensure seamless integration of schedules, milestones, and deliverables.

An outline of your responsibilities:

  • Implement and align execution strategies for Upper Basin works with overall project goals.
  • Oversee EPC contractor and Owner’s Engineer performance, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and supervise all site-based construction activities, ensuring progress, quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Integrate schedules and deliverables with contractors, consultants, and project teams.
  • Monitor daily and weekly construction progress and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Assess EPC contractor manpower and equipment adequacy.
  • Manage stakeholder communication and ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Administer change management processes, including claims, variations, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure adherence to international EHS standards throughout construction and commissioning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of progress, costs, risks, and lessons learned.
  • Support commissioning activities and ensure readiness for integration and operations.
  • Participate in project close-out, inspections, and post‑implementation reviews.
  • Oversee RCC mix design development, test sections, and related EPC procedures.

What you will bring:

  • This role requires significant autonomy and judgment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Hydropower Engineering a Master’s in Project Management or related field is an advantage.
  • 15+ years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role on hydropower or similar power generation projects.
  • Proven experience with RCC dam projects.
  • Strong background managing EPC and Owner’s Engineer contracts.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hydropower systems (dams, tunnels, penstocks, powerhouse, electromechanical systems).
  • Experience working in remote or challenging environments is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of international safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, ERP systems).

Salary and package:

An employee contract which will include accommodation, travel allowance, medical and life insurance. The salary will vary depending on years’ experience and can be paid in USD as a NET amount, it can be negotiated. You will need to commit to around 4 years.
