An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regional Lead Hydromechanical Engineer to join a major international hydropower project. The successful candidate will oversee all hydromechanical works on site, ensuring that designs, installations, and commissioning activities meet the highest technical and safety standards.

Working closely with the Chief Resident Engineer and a multidisciplinary team, you will play a central role in guiding the project’s hydromechanical engineering activities, coordinating with site teams, and maintaining strong communication with headquarters.

What you will be expected to do:

• Lead and supervise all hydromechanical construction and installation activities.
• Report directly to the Chief Resident Engineer (CRE).
• Coordinate with on‑site and head‑office technical teams for Level‑2 design review.
• Review hydromechanical designs and ensure correct implementation on site.
• Provide technical leadership across all hydromechanical engineering areas.
• Train and evaluate delegated client personnel.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design review sheets, reports, notes, letters, and meeting minutes.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and international best practices.
• Produce monthly and ad‑hoc progress reports.

What you will bring:

• Engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in construction or equipment assembly, including at least 10 years in the hydropower sector.
• Strong background in hydromechanical engineering.
• Proven leadership and team‑management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Fluency in English & Russian OR Tajik languages are required

Salary:

Equivalent to $8,250 USD net / month (over 12 months) on a Freelance contract which 4 x return trips home, the possibility of single or married status + accommodation + insurances. 12 month rolling contract.
