An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced professional to lead the growth, strategy, and delivery of major hydropower and dam projects across Canada. There is opportunity to cover either the Eastern or Western areas. This high-impact role combines business development, client relationship management, technical leadership, and project delivery oversight, supporting some of the country's most critical energy and infrastructure initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding market presence, strengthening client partnerships, developing teams, and driving the successful execution of complex multidisciplinary projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead regional growth initiatives within the hydropower and dams sector across Canada.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with utilities, dam owners, government agencies, and key stakeholders.
- Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
- Lead major pursuits, proposals, presentations, and strategic client engagements.
- Serve as Project Director or Program Manager on significant hydropower and dam infrastructure projects.
- Provide technical leadership aligned with your area of engineering expertise.
- Collaborate with national leadership teams to develop and execute growth strategies.
- Support recruitment, workforce planning, and succession development.
- Mentor project managers, technical specialists, and emerging leaders.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive team culture.
- Oversee project performance, delivery excellence, risk management, and client satisfaction.
- Promote innovation and best practices across project teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility for registration in Canada.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in hydropower, dams, or related infrastructure sectors.
- Expertise in one or more disciplines including hydrotechnical, civil, structural, geotechnical, dam safety, mechanical, electrical, or related engineering fields.
- Demonstrated success in business development and strategic growth within the Canadian hydropower and dams market.
- Established network and relationships with power utilities, dam owners, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead client engagement and build long-term partnerships.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex infrastructure projects.
- Ability to travel within Canada approximately 10-20%.
