A major international infrastructure consultancy is seeking a highly experienced Resident Engineer to oversee the construction supervision of a complex Underground Powerhouse project in Pakistan. This role is central to the successful delivery of a large-scale hydropower development and involves managing a wide range of civil, mechanical, and electrical works across multiple underground structures.
You will act as the key liaison between the project team, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence throughout the construction lifecycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading daily and weekly progress meetings, reporting to the Project Manager, and preparing minutes of meetings.
- Supervising construction activities across the Underground Powerhouse Complex, including:
- Intake, Power Tunnel, Transformer Cavern, Surge Chamber, Switchyard, Tailrace Tunnels, and associated structures.
- Overseeing concrete works, including placement, testing, and mix design for various grades.
- Coordinating installation and testing of mechanical and electrical systems, including penstocks and turbines.
- Reviewing and approving construction plans, schedules, materials, and method statements.
- Monitoring contractor resources, equipment, and materials through daily inspections.
- Managing the punch list process and coordinating defect rectification.
- Conducting knowledge transfer to WAPDA staff.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale civil infrastructure projects.
- Proven expertise in underground construction and hydropower facilities.
- Strong leadership, coordination, and reporting skills.
Package:
Salary: USD 18,000 net/month (negotiable) on a consulting contract with 6 weeks annual leave (unpaid holidays).
