Renewable Energy Development (Wind, Solar, Storage & Hydro)

Lead the development of Canada's next generation of clean energy projects.

An established renewable energy company is seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on wind energy in Québec. The successful candidate will manage a small team and drive projects from early-stage development through permitting, stakeholder engagement, and commercial execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of wind, solar, storage, hydro, and hybrid energy projects.
  • Manage project planning, budgets, schedules, studies, and commercial assessments.
  • Build relationships with municipalities, Indigenous communities, landowners, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Negotiate land agreements and development rights.
  • Oversee permitting, regulatory approvals, and bid submissions.
  • Prepare financial models and investment committee presentations.
  • Lead and mentor a team of development professionals.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • 10+ years' experience in energy project development, project management, or business development.
  • Strong renewable energy experience, particularly in wind development.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with financial modelling, contracts, and regulatory processes.
  • Willingness to travel within Canada as required.
