A leading international developer is recruiting a Senior Lead Planner to play a key role for a major hydropower project. This position provides independent planning assurance, high‑level governance, and oversight of scheduling activities delivered by both the Owner’s Engineer (EPCM) and EPC contractors.
It’s a senior, site-based role suited to highly capable planning professional who can operate autonomously at megaproject scale. The successful candidate will act as the client’s authoritative voice on planning matters—ensuring the programme is coherent, defensible, and aligned with contractual, technical, and executive expectations.
Rather than producing contractor schedules, the focus is on challenging, integrating, validating, and protecting the integrity of the overall programme.
What You Will Do:
Lead programme‑level planning activities on behalf of the Employer.
- Oversee, interrogate, and challenge schedule outputs from EPC and OE teams.
- Assess baseline submissions, progress updates, forecasts, and recovery strategies.
- Ensure consistency across WBS structures, interfaces, critical paths, and sequencing.
- Support milestone governance and drive schedule assurance across the programme.
- Act as a senior planning authority, engaging directly with project leadership and executive oversight bodies.
- Help build and strengthen a disciplined, high‑performing PMO planning function.
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
- PMP certification (essential or strongly preferred).
- Significant experience as a principal, lead, or PMO-level planner on major EPC/EPCM programmes.
- Deep scheduling experience on large infrastructure, energy, hydropower, or heavy civil projects.
- Background on the Employer/EPCM side, with responsibility for oversight and governance.
- Advanced expertise in Primavera P6, particularly in complex, multi-package environments.
- Strong capability to challenge contractor assumptions and defend key project milestones.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Professional accreditation (PMI-PMP, AACE, or equivalent).
- Experience working on long-duration international construction sites.
- Familiarity with programme-level reporting, controls, and governance frameworks.
- Ability to commit to 100% on-site deployment for the duration of the project.
