Lead the Future of Hydropower and Dam Infrastructure

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Project Director, Hydropower & Dams to lead the delivery and growth of major infrastructure projects across Western Canada. This senior leadership role is ideal for a strategic professional with extensive experience in hydropower, dams, and large-scale infrastructure development.

You will play a key role in shaping project strategy, strengthening client relationships, mentoring project teams, and delivering complex projects that contribute to sustainable and resilient energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct major hydropower and dam infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Provide executive-level project leadership, governance, and oversight.
  • Mentor and support senior project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Define project vision, objectives, execution strategies, and success measures.
  • Coordinate engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, and stakeholder activities.
  • Lead project steering committees and executive review meetings.
  • Serve as the primary senior contact for clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and business growth.
  • Lead commercial and contractual discussions.
  • Oversee project profitability, revenue, cash flow, and financial performance.
  • Approve significant expenditures, change orders, and project decisions.
  • Manage project risks and opportunities.
  • Support business development activities, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Contribute to regional and national growth strategies.
  • Support recruitment and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 20 years' experience in project management within the hydropower or dams sector.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility for registration within a Western Canadian province.
  • Established relationships with power utilities, dam owners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Strong client management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing abilities.
  • Willingness to travel within Western Canada (approximately 10-20%).
