A major pumped‑storage hydropower construction project is seeking 2 Project Engineers to support large‑scale civil and underground works. These roles involve close coordination with contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure safe, high‑quality, and on‑schedule delivery of critical project components:
Project Engineer - Underground
Focus: Tunnels, penstocks, surge shafts, underground hydraulic structures
We are looking for candidates with:
- Strong experience in underground drill‑and‑blast tunnelling (not TBM)
- Background in hydropower, dams, or major underground works
- Experience in welding and installation of penstocks or steel lining systems
- Knowledge of tunnel support systems, groundwater management, geotechnical risks, and hydraulic structures
- Ability to coordinate excavation works, review technical documents, manage quality inspections, and support commissioning
Project Engineer - Dam
Focus: Bulk earthworks, embankments, drainage, slope stabilization, access roads
We are targeting candidates with:
- Proven experience in bulk earthworks with stringent QA/QC requirements (e.g., dams, tailings storage facilities, engineered levees, landfills)
- Background in large‑scale civil, hydropower, mining, or water‑resource projects
- Strong understanding of compaction control, material testing, geotechnical monitoring, and embankment construction
- Experience reviewing drawings, ITPs, method statements, and monitoring contractor performance
General Responsibilities for both positions:
- Support planning, supervision, and execution of assigned works
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and Owner’s Engineer
- Conduct site inspections and monitor safety, quality, and progress
- Prepare engineering reports, dashboards, and project updates
- Assist with design changes, technical issues, and variation evaluations
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- 10+ years preferred; 5+ years may be considered
- Mandarin / Chinese speaking ability is highly preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera P6, and MS Office
- Effective communication and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Willing to work onsite on a long-term contract experience in remote/challenging environments is an advantage.
