A major renewable energy development is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to cover the Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation (E/M/I) to lead the delivery of complex systems for a large‑scale hydropower facility. This role is ideal for a senior technical leader with deep expertise in hydropower plant construction, pumped‑storage systems, or other large hydro‑mechanical installations.

The Project Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of electro‑mechanical and instrumentation works for a hydropower installation, ensuring the successful integration of mechanical, electrical, automation, and control systems essential to power generation and water conveyance operations which includes; hydro turbines, generators, cooling systems, transformers and electrical substations.

You will manage engineering reviews, procurement coordination, installation, testing, and commissioning of all major hydropower E/M/I components while ensuring compliance with design, safety, and regulatory standards.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the complete scope of E/M/I works for a hydropower facility, from engineering through commissioning.
  • Supervise installation of hydro‑mechanical systems including turbines, valves, gates, pumps, penstocks, cooling systems, and balance‑of‑plant equipment.
  • Oversee electrical systems such as generators, transformers, switchgear, protection relays, SCADA, and substation interfaces critical to hydropower operations.
  • Manage instrumentation, automation, and control systems to ensure seamless integration with mechanical and electrical plant functions.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, consultants, and contractors on technical, delivery, and interface matters.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local standards.
  • Monitor construction progress, manage risks, control budgets, and ensure timely delivery of hydropower project milestones.
  • Resolve on‑site technical challenges in collaboration with civil, geotechnical, and project control teams.
  • Lead Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, inspections, and commissioning activities for hydropower equipment and systems.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and updates for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and supervise a multidisciplinary team of E/M/I engineers and site personnel.

 Qualifications & Experience:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electro‑Mechanical Engineering;
  • Strong technical understanding of hydropower plant systems, including turbines, generators, automation, and control.
  • Around 15–20 years of experience in E/M/I project execution, extensive experience in hydropower or pumped‑storage projects.
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in project locations.
  • Familiarity with relevant international and local engineering standards.
  • Experience working within EPC or turnkey project environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, and technical documentation tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary site teams in a hydropower setting.

Salary and package:

An employee contract which will include accommodation, travel allowance, medical insurance. The salary will vary depending on years’ experience and can be paid in USD as a NET amount, it can be negotiated. You will need to commit to around 4 years.
